Representative Kiley Response to Harvard President Claudine Gay’s Resignation

WASHINGTON – Today Representative Kiley (R-CA) released the following statement after the resignation of Harvard President Claudine Gay:

“The resignation of Claudine Gay as President is obviously the right thing for Harvard. More than that, it is a turning point for American higher education. Our universities have completely lost their way. Now is the time for a dramatic course correction,” said Rep. Kiley.

Background:

On October 13, Representative Kiley joined other members of Congress who graduated from Harvard in a letter expressing disappointment in President Gay’s inaction in regards to anti-Semitism on campus following Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel. Following Claudine Gay’s testimony before the House Education and the Workforce Committee in December, Representative Kiley joined Representative Stefanik in calling on President Gay to resign from her position as President.
