Opposition Mounts to Su DOL Nomination
Today, the California Business and Industrial Alliance (CABIA) joined Rep. Kiley, members of the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, members of the California Congressional Delegation, and countless freelancers in opposition to Julie Su for Secretary of Labor. Opposition to Su’s nomination has continued to mount as her track record of mismanagement and targeting freelancers in California has come to light. You can read CABIA’s letter here.
“Californians have suffered enough under Julie Su’s leadership. CABIA believes promoting her to Labor Secretary would only subject the rest of the country to her failures.” – Tom Manzo, President and Founder of CABIA
“As Chair of the House Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, I am urging President Biden in the strongest terms to immediately withdraw Julie Su’s nomination. To say that Su failed in her previous role as Labor Secretary in California’s labor department is an extreme understatement. The amount of suffering Su’s Labor Department inflicted on my constituents and millions of Californians should entirely disqualify Su from consideration.” – Congressman Kevin Kiley.
Background: Rep. Kiley has emerged as the leader of congressional opposition to the Su nomination. Rep. Kiley previously led a letter from members of the California Delegation, as well as a letter from his colleagues on the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, in opposition to the nomination. Rep. Kiley also made the comprehensive case against Su on the House Floor.
