Congressmen Kevin Kiley and Sam Liccardo Call for Bipartisan Action on Healthcare
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representatives Kevin Kiley (CA-03) and Sam Liccardo (CA-16) released the following statement on averting an imminent rise in healthcare costs for millions of Americans:
“The cost of living for Americans is already far too high. Many of our constituents simply cannot afford a sudden massive increase in healthcare costs. We are calling for a bipartisan deal that includes three basic elements: a limited duration extension of ACA enhanced premium tax credits, reforms to reduce the burden on taxpayers, and protections against waste, fraud, and abuse.”
Reps. Liccardo and Kiley’s framework aligns with the general elements of the bipartisan framework released by Reps. Tom Suozzi (NY-03), Don Bacon (NE-02), Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), and Jeff Hurd (CO-03). Liccardo and Kiley are encouraging both parties in the House and Senate to come together on a deal that includes these elements. They will release legislation corresponding with their framework in the coming days.
