Americans Overwhelmingly Support Rep. Kiley’s Mid-Decade Redistricting Bill
WASHINGTON – A new poll shows that Americans support Rep. Kevin Kiley’s (R-CA) bill to end mid-decade redistricting by a nearly 3-to-1 margin.
The survey, conducted by Noble Predictive Insights, asked whether Congress should ban states from changing district boundaries mid-decade, except under exceptional circumstances such as a court order. 66% of respondents said yes compared to 23% saying no, which is nearly identical support from Democrats and Republicans.
“Americans do not want a redistricting war,” Rep. Kiley said. “It is time for House Leadership to bring my bill to end mid-decade redistricting up for a vote, either as standalone legislation or as part of a continuing resolution.”
Rep. Kiley’s bill, HR 4889, would apply nationwide while stopping Gavin Newsom’s redistricting sham from disenfranchising and defrauding California voters. Rep. Kiley recently called for a vote on the bill in a recent House Floor speech.
