Representative Kiley Questions University Leaders
WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Kevin Kiley (R-CA) questioned university leaders at UCLA, Northwestern, and Rutgers about the appalling anti-Semitism and illegal encampments on those campuses.
At a hearing of the Education and the Workforce Committee, Rep. Kiley played a chilling video clip of a UCLA student being physically blocked from entering campus because of his Jewish identity. Chancellor Block could not say whether anyone has been disciplined for this conduct, even though the individuals forming the illegal blockade are clearly visible in the footage.
You can see Rep. Kiley’s full five-minutes of questioning here, and his Floor Speech recapping the hearing here.
Rep. Kiley also joined the Anti-Defamation League’s call for Northwestern President Michael Schill to resign for agreeing to the anti-Semitic demands of encampment participants. Last week, the head of Sonoma State University in California resigned after reaching a similar agreement with the lawless encampment on that campus. Kiley has written a letter to the leaders of the UC and CSU system calling for accountability for other campus leaders.
