Representative Kiley Announces New Education Chairmanship
WASHINGTON – Today Representative Kevin Kiley (R-CA) released a statement after being appointed Chairman of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee.
“I am pleased to announce that Rep. Kevin Kiley will be the Chairman of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee,” said Chairman Tim Walberg. “Empowering parents and providing educational choice are powerful remedies to what ails our education system—with them, students can be successful not just in the classroom but in the years after. Efforts to give students more choice and parents more say will be the cornerstone of this subcommittee’s work. Rep. Kiley’s background as a teacher and his work to strengthen charter schools will make him an invaluable part of the team as the Committee works on initiatives that put students and families, not the education bureaucracy, first.”
“I am pleased and honored to be named Chairman of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee,” said Rep. Kiley. “As a former educator and the son of a teacher, I am committed to supporting policies and programs that allow every student to thrive by empowering parents and students to ensure world-class outcomes. I look forward to working with Chairman Walberg to promote school choice, including great public schools, and continuing support for thriving local charter schools.”
Rep. Kiley is serving his second term in Congress and the Education and Workforce Committee.
