Representative Kiley Announces Agreement for Natural Resources Committee to Hold Hearing on the Lake Tahoe Restoration Reauthorization Act
WASHINGTON – Representative Kevin Kiley (R-CA) released the following statement after the House Natural Resources Committee scheduled a September hearing on H.R. 1274, the Lake Tahoe Restoration Reauthorization Act:
“This is great news for Tahoe. I am grateful for the bipartisan support for this vital legislation to protect one of America’s greatest national treasures. I’m also grateful to Chairman Westerman for working with me to get the bill set to be heard. I will continue to work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle and with House leadership to assure it is passed out of the House and signed by the President before the end of the year.”
Kiley also announced that he plans to seek a special waiver to join the Natural Resources Committee on the day of the Hearing. “It’s important for me to be there to directly advocate for our communities across the Tahoe basin,” said Kiley. “I want to ensure the Committee understands the urgency in moving this bipartisan bill and that local concerns are fully represented at the hearing.”
