Rep. Kiley Statement on Virginia’s Vote to Redraw its Congressional Map

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Kiley (I-CA) released the following statement regarding Virginia’s ballot initiative to gerrymander its congressional map mid-census:

“The return of gerrymandering in states like California and Virginia, and the advent of mid-decade gerrymandering in states like Texas and Missouri, is a major regression for democracy in America. Voters have been clear that they want fair district lines for elections in all states. It is time for Congress to limit redistricting to once per decade and for all sides to come together to end gerrymandering for good.”
