Rep. Kiley Honors Oliver Litchfield for Quincy Heroism
On Tuesday, February 21st, Congressman Kiley was joined by supervisors, District Superintendent Bergman, family, and survivors at East Quincy Jr./Sr. High School to present Oliver Litchfield with a congressional certificate of recognition for his bravery and quick presence of mind.
As background, on February 12th, Oliver Litchfield was driving through East Quincy when he spotted flames emanating from a nearby building. After calling 911, Oliver went window to window to get residents out of the building, and even cushioned one individual with his body after that person jumped out of a second story window. He later returned to help firefighters roll up their hoses, and also visited the fire station to receive paperwork to volunteer in a more official capacity. Both Oliver’s father and uncle are first responders.
