Washington, D.C. (3/9/2023) – “Every student deserves a quality education, and school choice is a critical component. My amendment ensures parents are fully informed of every enrollment option available to their child, from inter-district and intra-district public school transfers to charter schools. I am grateful my colleagues stand with me in translating the promise of school choice into concrete policy and I look forward to continuing to fight for a quality education for every child.” – Congressman Kevin Kiley

Background: In a key victory for parents and students, Rep. Kiley’s school choice amendment was successfully adopted by the House Education and the Workforce Committee as part of the Parents Bill of Rights (H.R.5) legislation. The bill passed Committee and is on track for a vote by the full U.S. House of Representatives. You can read a copy of Rep. Kiley’s amendment here and H.R.5 here.
