ADVISORY: Kiley, Bonamici Host Press Call on New Bipartisan Bill to Protect Students from Fentanyl Poisoning
WASHINGTON– On Thursday, September 21 Representatives Kevin Kiley (R-CA) and Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) will hold a press call following the introduction of their new legislation to save lives by educating students about the dangers of fentanyl poisoning. They will be joined by parent advocates and educators to make brief remarks and answer questions.
The Fentanyl Awareness for Children and Teens in Schools (FACTS) Act will be introduced Thursday, which is National Opioid Awareness Day. The legislation will work to reduce student deaths from synthetic opioid overdose and develop an interagency task force at the federal level to fight the synthetic opioid crisis through education and prevention.
