FY 2026 Community Project Funding Requests

As part of the annual federal budget process, Members of Congress are authorized to submit up to 15 projects to receive consideration for federal funding. Out of the numerous requests received, Rep. Kiley advanced the projects below. Although the projects must still be considered by the Appropriations Committee and a federal budget passed in order for funds to be disbursed, official submission by a Member of Congress is a necessary and major step forward in the federal funding process.

Sunny Slopes Fire Station

  1. Name of Project – Sunny Slopes Fire Station
  2. Recipient – County of Mono
  3. Address of Recipient – PO Box 715, Bridgeport, CA 93517.
  4. Amount Requested – $4,198,388
  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to construct a fire station in Sunny Slopes, CA. This station will provide fire protection and EMS services to local communities and nearby LADWP facilities and infrastructure. It’s a valuable use of taxpayer funds because there is no fire station facility in this area. It will provide fire and emergency response services to upwards of 7,000 people during the summer months and will also protect important water resource infrastructure.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Regional Indoor Firearms Range and Training Facility

  1. Name of Project – Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Regional Indoor Firearms Range and Training Facility
  2. Recipient – Nevada County Sheriff’s Office
  3. Address of Recipient – 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City, CA 95959
  4. Amount Requested – $5,000,000
  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to construct an indoor firearms training facility for the Nevada County Sheriff to enhance public safety across the region. It’s a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will serve as a regional asset by providing training space for the Nevada County Sheriff and other law enforcement agencies in the area.

Bishop Fire Ladder Truck

  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to replace an aging ladder truck that will allow the town to fight fires in new multi-story buildings, and serve as an asset to the surrounding region.

  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to purchase a Special Operations Medium Rescue Vehicle. This is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will deliver specialized rescue equipment and capabilities to all fire agencies, the Sherriff’s dive team, local governments, contractors, utilities, residents, and visitors to Nevada County.

  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is the construction of a Water Treatment Plant to remove arsenic, iron, and manganese. It is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will provide the community with quality water that meets EPA standards and ensures public health.

It is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will proactively address aging water infrastructure and eliminate potential water quality risks. This will ensure a safe and resilient drinking water system.

  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to replace aging water mains to ensure reliable drinking water and sufficient fire suppression capabilities. This is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because the current undersized and aging water mains cause an excessive number of leaks and exceed industry standards by 20 times the typical level.

Purpose – The purpose of this project is to modify an existing interchange to improve safety and minimize congestion in order to maintain an acceptable level of service for future traffic demands. This is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will improve traffic safety and improve access to the Town of Loomis, Interstate 80, and the surrounding community.

Baseline Road Traffic Safety Improvement and Signal Project

  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to install traffic signals and widen the road to allow for dedicated left turn lanes. It’s a valuable use of taxpayer funds because it will reduce delays and improve safety.

Interstate 80/Rocklin Road Interchange Improvements Project

  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to install a diverging diamond interchange that will improve traffic flow on Rocklin Road. It’s a valuable use of taxpayer dollars because it will reduce congestion and improve traffic flow on Rocklin Road.

White Rock Road Improvement Project

  1. Name of Project – White Rock Road Improvement Project
  2. Recipient – Capital Southeast Connector Joint Powers Authority
  3. Address of Recipient – 10640 Mather Blvd, Suite 120, Mather, CA 95655
  4. Amount Requested – $10,000,000
  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to reconstruct 3-miles of existing roadway into a four-lane divided expressway with a separated Class I bike path, Class II buffered bike lanes, and sidewalks in the City of Folsom and El Dorado County. The project will function as a gap closure connecting existing bike and pedestrian facilities at each end of the project. It’s a valuable source of taxpayer funds because it will provide easy access to a 3,500 acre mixed use development that will provide 11,000 quality homes and 8,000 local jobs.

Hazel and Iron Point Stations and Park & Ride Modifications

  1. Name of Project – Hazel and Iron Point Stations and Park & Ride Modifications
  2. Recipient – Sacramento Regional Transit District
  3. Address of Recipient – 1102 Q Street, Suite 4100, Sacramento, CA 95811
  4. Amount Requested – $4,000,000
  5. Purpose – The purpose of this project is to modify and upgrade two light rail stations to accommodate new low-floor light rail vehicles, improve boarding/lighting, and improve safety and service for all riders. The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because the area these stations are located in will increase in population over the next decade, and upgrades to the station will allow for faster loading, improving service consistency, reliability, and on-time performance. Convenient and easy level boarding/alighting will be less stressful, reduce accidents, improve rider experience, and encourage new ridership.
