WASHINGTON – Today Representative Kevin Kiley (R-CA) voted for the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act which included funding that he advocated for to support charter schools, increase military pay, protect the border and stop fentanyl trafficking.

“While no bill is perfect, I voted for this legislation because it provides funding for key California priorities including a $3 billion increase to border security and funding for 22,000 border patrol agents – the highest number in U.S. history. Of special concern for local families and parents, the bill adds an additional 150 officers to support counter-fentanyl efforts, a top priority of mine, as well as funding to support charter schools. I was especially pleased the bill includes language I authored urging the Army Corps of Engineers to complete their assessment and inspection of the Lincoln Titan 1 Missile Silo Complex with all deliberate speed and to share the findings and remediation recommendations with the public. Finally, the bill provides a much needed and well deserved 5.2% pay increase for our service members who work every day to protect our country,” said Rep. Kiley.

The Bill passed in the House by a vote of 286-134.
